What is Google Marketing Platform?

Earlier in the week, we took a brief tour of Google Marketing Platform — talk about data central! Take a quick look at the different “products” available from Google that will help you step up your business’ Google Ads, website performance and data collection game!

When we first dipped our toes into Google Marketing Platform’s offerings, we were excited to see the tools that were available to us. Here is a brief summary of the tools that do not center around Google Ads:

Google Analytics

If you’ve been curious about the user demographic and page views data of your website, there’s a good chance you are already familiar with Google Analytics. From the types of devices users view your website on to how long users remain on your website, Google Analytics is a wealth of data that is available for you to use to help guide content, e-commerce and optimization of your website.

Tag Manager

A new tool in Google Marketing Platform, Tag Manager allows you to edit and add new meta tags to your website to help SEO performance.

Surveys

If you’re familiar with Google Forms or survey creation websites like Survey Monkey, think of Google Surveys as the next step up. According to Google, utilizing Surveys will help you gain key insights into the behavior of your customers.

Optimize

A series of Google recommendations for your website in order to improve overall website performance and create personalized experiences for your customers.

Data Studio

In Data Studio, you can connect several data collection sources (Google Analytics, Sheets, Google Ads and other non-Google programs) to organize and display key data for your business. The integration with available data is simple and the visual display of that data in reports is completely customizable.

It wouldn’t be Google Marketing Platform without discussing Google Ads. Google Marketing Platform has two products specifically for ad creation: Search Ads 360 and Display & Video 360. As you might assume, Search Ads 360 is where you can create and manage your Google Search ads and Display & Video 360 is where you can create and manage video and display ads that may appear across any Google platform that supports those types of ads. Campaign Manager 360 is a singular management tool in which you can manage all of your Google ads.
