"Into Thin Air"

Jon Krakauer is probably one of my favorite authors, in that he does a great job of providing information and letting you determine how events happened. Whether it be the roaming Chris McAndless in Into the Wild or detailing the life and death of NFL Star turned US Service Member Pat Tillman, Krakauer takes you down a well documented story. Into Thin Air is such a great read, because it weaves a great story from the start. To be able to tell the story of an ill fated climb of Mt. Everest in detail to the vast majority of us that will never use an ice ax, is a unique trait. Into Thin Air is a story of not only the author, but of 25-30 other people, of whom we get to know well in his journey. The main takeaway I have from Into Thin Air is that the small details matter and in ignoring them, they can have a devastating effect. The history lessons taught to man, by the pursuit of any endeavor, is always lined with lessons and Krakauer's documentation of his climb of Everest has plenty for the reader.

Enjoy
